Katherine Lavin is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing around the Monterey Peninsula since 2017. She performs regularly as a solo artist or with her band at various venues and music festivals. She was voted "Best Musician in Monterey County" for 2025 in the Monterey Weekly. Katherine released her self-produced first single, "Baby Can't Wait," in 2026 and is working on her upcoming album. Performing June 11th & July 16th, 23rd, & 30th on Estéban's patio. Join us on Thursday, July 23rd, for an immersive evening that celebrates the rich traditions of agave, tequila, and Indigenous heritage, blending education, entertainment, and exceptional cuisine. The evening opens with a vibrant performance by Aztec Dancers, setting the tone for an unforgettable celebration. Guests will witness the artistry and passion of these dancers during the reception. Learn how the blue agave plant is harvested to make tequila with a live demonstration by a talented jimador, a highly skilled laborer in Mexico who harvests blue agave plants using a specialized tool called a Coa de Jima to slice and prepare the agave. 

Each Regional All-Star ensemble features talented students from across Monterey County. Our All-Star ensembles rehearse twice monthly while working on ensemble skills, and in the summer, they get to perform across Monterey County and far beyond, testing their chops on the bandstand while bringing great jazz music to the community. They have performed at prestigious venues and festivals such as the Kennedy Center, San Jose Jazz Fest, Jazz on the Plazz, Forest Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Monterey Jazz Festival. Enjoy them on the Estéban patio from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21 & 7/28. 

Janice Perl is the youngest daughter of Monterey musician and community leader Mike Marotta Sr., whose training and guidance prepared her for a career in music. She has worked as Vocal Director for Pacific Repertory Theatre, Forest Theatre Guild, Compass Church, Trinity High School, and the Monterey Jazz Regional All-Star Vocal Ensemble. As a private voice instructor, she teaches through Dennis Murphy School of Music. Janice is a working jazz vocalist and performs with our area's top instrumentalists.
